It was a bit overwhelming initially but I'll get over it - it's better than having to leave again because of stoopid money issues. Plus the best thing about 2nd year is that there are analog photography options! I just finished a 3 day workshop in medium & large format photography and I am hooked...
I got to play with a most gorgeous Hasselblad for a little while and then I booked out the Zone VI Field Camera for the weekend! I had never played with anything in the large format category before so the experience was captivating. I made a few boo boos for sure but it's all about the learning and the fact that I got anything from my slides is just amazing. Being back in the darkroom after so long has been such a delight and I basically want to spend all my time in there now!
Unfortunately I'm not in the Photography subsidiary because of me being so late starting (I'm in printmaking - which is also awesome) but if I can transfer in the new year I so will. It's all digital for the 1st semester and then it's the amazing tutor we had this week in the 2nd semester for medium/large format and studio work. I'd kill to be in that class so fingers crossed.
...anyways, I'm basically back on a photography/fine art kick and I'll be doing a 3D construction workshop next week so things could get very interesting. I've lots of ideas, some of which are quite ambitious for the likes of myself so here's hoping things pan out for me. I had forgotten how expensive materials get but I'm so into it I'm gonna worry about that crap later. O_o
Ok that's my gush for now...
